Circus and Politics
Circus and Politics: This is the topic of my current illustration project. Combine these two themes into one image that portrays elements of both. The two go hand in hand naturally; coming up with visual imagery isn't hard. While sitting in the library the other day I had my moment of inspiration. I'm not sure where it came from or what spawned it. I love those moments, and I wish I could recreate them more often. Nevertheless, I have my idea off and running. I will post it once it's in its more finalized state.
My question is this. Is there a way to combine these two topics and have a positive result? Ninety-nine percent of all the ideas I came up with have been portraying politicians in a negative way or incorporating donkeys and elephants in some sort of freak show or parade.
Is this even possible given the comical and whimsical nature of circuses and the dislike, or confusion in our government?

Hmm... Do you HAVE to use circuses? Why not just use another idea?
And I know what you mean with your little incident at the blood bank. I used to have a low platelet count, so every time I took a blood test it was like there was a grape juice stain on my arm.
I'd say the relation to politics to that of the trapeze artist are a good correlation.
Politicians need to perform with grace and precision, and the slightest slip up can be, well, disastrous.
